This reusable filter cartridge is developed specific for eDNA sampling but can be advantageously used for all needs of filtration.\u00a0Sterivex filters are widely used for eDNA samples, but by using this filter cartridge, it is possible to choose any filter type with a\u00a0standard diameter of 47 mm, reducing the cost significantly and increases the flexibility and scope of application. The filter\u00a0cartridge is easy to disassemble and reuse. Luer lock fittings can be supplied by DMR to use the cartridge as if it were a Sterivex\u00a0filter. The filter area of the standard Sterivex filter is ten cm2, and the area of the new eDNA filter cartridge is thirty-two cm2 because two\u00a0filter membranes can be used in the cartridge. This gives a much higher filtration capacity, which is important in most cases.\u00a0Furthermore, you can choose only to use one of the two filters for analysis and store the other duplicate as a backup or use it for other applications.<\/p>\n
